Documented history
Ultras Levante: origin in El Cabañal in 1985 and Gol Alboraya
According to the group's own account in an interview of January 2011, Ultras Levante was founded in the 1985–1986 season by young people from El Cabañal, a fishing neighbourhood of Valencia. 20minutos (2014) and ElDesmarque (2024) report the same origin. The group placed its best period in the early nineties and its worst moment at the end of that decade, when barely four or five people kept it going.
From the newsletter to Gent Granota
The group's blog explains that between the 1989–1990 and 1994–1995 seasons it published a typewritten newsletter with no fixed name, and that its fanzine Gent Granota appeared in the Orriols stands in the 1998–1999 season, coinciding with a reorganisation of the group. In the 2011 interview, the group said it also had a very active youth section, Cachorros.

20minutos reported in December 2014 that Levante UD opened in 2013 a young animation stand of which Ultras Levante became part, having accepted the club's code of good conduct. ElDesmarque repeated in October 2024 that the group is part of that stand. In the 2022–2023 season, the club approved, at the request of Levante Fans 1909, the relocation of the animation stand to Gol Alboraya Central Bajo 1; Levante Fans is the name of that stand, not a synonym for Ultras Levante.

In October 2022, elDiario.es published season-ticket holders' complaints about harassment by a far-right sector within the Levante Fans stand; according to the complainants, that sector called itself Ultras Levante. The club replied that the stand, moved that season to a delimited area behind Gol Alboraya, was a self-managed space where fans of different ideologies had coexisted for thirteen seasons, and announced more cameras and security staff. These are the versions of the complainants and the club, not judicial or administrative rulings.

20minutos pointed in 2014 to Frente Atlético as an ally of Ultras Levante and to Yomus, of Valencia CF, as an enemy. In the 2011 interview, the group cited a good relationship with Frente Orellut and Ultras Murcia and a «run-down» twinning with the Levante section of Frente Atlético.

Ideology and identity · Ultras Levante
The sources disagree and depend on the date. El País (December 2014) and the degree dissertation by Baltasar Barceló Sánchez (Miguel Hernández University, 2022–2023) place Ultras Levante on the far right; 20minutos described it as apolitical in December 2014, and AS attributed in 2003 a pro-Spanish-nationalist tendency to specific members, not to the whole peña. In a 2011 interview, the person answering for the group defined it as «Valenciano y por supuesto Español» (“Valencian and of course Spanish”). In 2022, complaining members quoted by elDiario.es referred to it as a far-right sector within the animation stand. None of these attributions describes Levante UD's supporters as a whole.
