Documented history

Supporters Gol Sur: Betis's ultra group since 1986

Supporters Gol Sur was formed in 1986 in the south end of the Villamarín, with forerunners in the peña El Chupe. La Soga's retrospective recalls that in 1987, as a very recently formed group, it appeared live on TVE's programme «En Familia» alongside Ultras Sur and Boixos Nois, and that in its early years it gathered young people with a heavy-metal look.

1986–2015: the south end of the Villamarín

LaLiga's complaint notes of 2015 place the group in the central area of the south end of the Benito Villamarín, behind a banner with its name. In March 2015 the group announced on its official account that it would not sing until the 12th minute of the match, in protest because the LFP had banned it from displaying its own banner in the stand, according to El Gol Digital.
